The best time to visit is from June to September. During this period, high-altitude passes are snow-free, nomadic yurt camps are set up on the summer pastures (jailoos), and the weather is ideal for trekking and horse riding.

Continental climate with extreme variations. While valley temperatures can soar above 35°C in summer, the mountains remain pleasantly cool. Nights at high altitudes can see frost even in midsummer.
